A neighbourhood plan enables neighbourhoods and communities to develop a shared vision and to shape the development and growth of their area. More information about neighbourhood plans can be found here.
As the designated neighbourhood forum for the Marylebone area, the Marylebone Forum has brought together stakeholders – residents, businesses, students (and those with children at local schools), and land and property owners – to mould a shared planning vision and develop a set of planning policies for the area.
Given its extensive history, location and architecture, Marylebone sits within an area heavily regulated by planning frameworks and constraints, including the Mayor’s London Plan, Westminster City Council’s City Plan and conservation area planning controls. The Marylebone Neighbourhood Plan therefore sits within these existing constraints and policies.
Themes and policies currently under consideration include:
– Biodiversity and Greening
– Wellbeing and Protection of Open Space
– Sustainable Transport
– Areas of Focus – including Edgware Road
– Small Business Use
– Small Retail Use
Once agreed, these priorities will be drawn up as a Neighbourhood Plan that will go out to the local community for consultation.
