New Funding for the Forum

We are pleased to announce that the Bryanston & Dorset Square and Marylebone High Street Ward Councillors have generously agreed to contribute a total of £4,000 to the Forum out of their ward budget funding. We are most grateful for this and the overall support for the Forum that we have received from our Councillors to date. This new money will enable us to continue with our publicity and planning for our post- designation work and to run some planning seminars for Forum members who have expressed a desire to learn more about neighbourhood planning. Inaugural meeting of the Marylebone Forum

To all who live and work in Marylebone. On the 25 February, there will be an inaugural meeting of the Marylebone Forum. All registered Forum members are invited to attend together with any residents or local employees who are interested in influencing the future development of the area. As well as a review of progress to date, there will be an opportunity to ask questions on the role and operation of the Forum. Speakers will include representatives from the Marylebone Association, the St. Marylebone Society, local business organisations and the major estates in the Marylebone Area. The meeting will start at 7pm at International Students House, 229 Great Portland Street, London W1W 5PN and will probably last for an hour or so, followed by light refreshments. Time is running out! The closing date for comments on the Marylebone Neighbourhood Forum is Wednesday 21st January 2015. This link will take you to our application which includes our constitution, statement of authority to act on behalf of a neighbourhood area and map. Marylebone Forum consultation dates confirmed

Following our formal application to designate the Marylebone Forum as a neighbourhood forum, Westminster City Council have informed us that they will undertake the ‘period for representations’ from Wednesday 26th November 2014 until Wednesday 21st January 2015. This is an eight week period (rather than the normal six weeks) to take into account the Christmas holiday period. Our application will be published on the City Council’s website and the City Council will also be writing to various organisations within Westminster, in particular within the Marylebone area, to inform them of our application and to allow representations to be made. Following this period for representations, the City Council will be required to make a formal decision in relation to the designation of a neighbourhood forum in Marylebone.
